RE: wind deflectors , do they work

They must help some. Most all long haul truckers use them.

RE: selfish campers

You and I are cut out of a different piece of cloth. I would have been fine with it until about 2pm....then well..., I know myself and know that I would not have come close to showing the patience and self restraint that you did. Shame on them and shame on Disney.

RE: First trip a COMPLETE success (LOTS of pics)

Hey neighbor, absolutely fantastic. Is there any better way to spend time with your family than this?

RE: How much has RVing gone up this last year.

I really hope you do keep RVing. I would like to cross paths and sit down and swap stories with you sometime....(having already followed your classic and famous posts over the years)...:)

RE: carrying shower stuff

We have a couple of mesh totes. You can easily find stuff in them, they dry quickly and ventilate. You can hang them on a shower room hook...also easily stored. Here is an example..get them anywhere. MESH TOTE http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41X4TXW3GXL._AA280_.jpg

RE: towing capacity

Welcome to the Forum I will not go into a long complicated explanation but in my opinion (and it's just an opinion), I don't think this is a good match. Very short wheel base and very low payload capacity of the VUE are really going to work against you. Good chance you will also be over weight once you load up with gear and passengers for a trip.

RE: Hwy 101

JTMO is correct. It is Hwy 1 I'm interested in taking. Any feedback? Well now, this is a different story. Hwy 1 is spectacular, but you will pay your dues driving it. It is certainly doable in a 24 footer but there are many narrow, twisty, tight spots. It takes time and concentration. If you want some stories to tell...go for it, but don't be in a hurry.

RE: RV parks Mt.Rushmore, etc

If you can get a spot, you won't be disappointed. Try to get in the "Island" section. Rafter J Bar

RE: Oil change on new truck

I might be a little "old school" but I changed engine oil, transmission oil, front and rear differential oil after about 1000 miles and a easy tow. Also all filters as well.

RE: Hwy 101

No problem with a 40 footer.

RE: side by side hookups

We try to avoid "side by side" hook up sites unless we are camping with close friends, because you will be very close to your neighbor. Sewer hose location can be "interesting" with this configuration.

RE: Empty 1 lb Propane Canisters

Best thing to do is to stop using them. Get a small refillable "pony" tank...5 gal. and hook this to your portable grill. Works great, saves money, easy to transport and no land fill issues. 5 lb cylinder http://images.campingworld.com/is/image/CWI/16000/16069.jpg?wid=230&hei=230&op_sharpen=1&layer=1&src=CWI/logo.gif&sizeN=0.3,0.3&posN=.32,.3&opac=20

RE: What is the "Northwest Edition"

We use to have a Prowler that was a NW Edition. I think they called it that because it was built in Oregon...????

RE: The Light Bulb

Someone from Texas actually makes some sense.. This should be required viewing. Maybe air it during the Super Bowl half time show or during a caution at the Daytona 500.

RE: Which Scary Movie?

Driving up I-5 to Seattle - construction, rain, narrow lanes and tons of semi's....scary.

RE: Arctic / Pac switch??

I looked it up...Arctic Pac = Arctic Package. tank heaters, extra insulation, (maybe dual pane windows?) The switch probably activates the tank heaters

RE: Awning and wind?

Not much...be very careful with your awning in the wind. Keep in mind that an awning is really just a horizontal sail. Tying down the awning may very well secure the roller end and give a false sense of security, but remember that it is not all that hard for the other end of the awning (the side attached to the trailer wall) to rip out and cause some serious damage to your rig.
